Working Within Constraints
This joint municipal and county funded project involved the construction of a new roadway that leveraged the constraints of a geographical escarpment and worked within the natural features to create a mix of land uses currently blighted by rundown and abandoned properties.
Community Stewardship
Due to the significant changes from abandoned streets, new streets and change in land uses, a master drainage analysis as well as a downstream impact analysis were critical for long-term regional drainage planning and included elements of LID, regional detention, site detention and floodplain management. Shield Engineering Group not only provided the civil engineering design, but also managed the project as a reliable agent of the city acting and performing on its behalf.
