Historic Perspective
Shield Engineering Group provided engineering services to transform a 7-acre aging retail center into a showcase commercial development, which includes a 1890s railroad section house that was replicated as the focal point in the center of the new development. This development also includes a 9-11 Memorial Park featuring a steel beam from the World Trade Center.
Improving Overall Flow
The parks and businesses are connected via accessible pedestrian trails and bridges. The dual-purpose parking and plaza area provides parking for the TownCenter as wells as a staging area for festivals and outdoor concerts.
